In June 2025, a team comprising citizens of Northern Ghana decent visited Kano in Nigeria to open a discussion on the possibilities of exploring various sectors of the Kano market. The team visited various institutions and individuals in Kano which included the Palace of the Emir, businessmen and women, the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA). The outcome of the visit culminated in the establishment of the Northern Ghana-Kano Trade Partnership and Development Center (NORTPADEC)).
